A Message from our Commodore -

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, it is customary to reflect on the good things in ours lives for which we are thankful. Unfortunately, for some of our members and for many families across the country and globe, celebrations will be greatly diminished due to the loss of loved ones who passed away this year. Please keep those families in your thoughts and prayers.

We can all be thankful that the elections are mostly over and we don’t have to see all the signage around town or hear all the nasty fighting among the politicians. Personally, I’ll be thankful for peace and harmony within our country.

I’m pleased to announce that our December membership meeting will be available for all to see via Zoom. This meeting will be held on December 7, beginning at 7 pm. We will be sending out the Zoom instructions for joining us when they are available. As is customary, the election of Officers and Board members will occur at this meeting. At this time nominations are closed. The slate to be elected is the same as is currently serving with one exception. Carol Willson is stepping down from the Treasurers position after many years serving the club. Carol, thank you for all your great work over the past 12 years. We’re very fortunate to have a very capable and experienced individual to fill Carol’s shoes. That individual is Cissy Yorke.  Thanks for stepping up to help us Cissy.

Following is the slate to be elected:

Officers:

Commodore                        Bob Harris

As the virus is once again spreading rapidly, we are under some new rules within the clubhouse. We are currently allowed a maximum of 10 people at a time. Social distancing and masks are mandatory. The town is following the rules of our state so our rules could change at any time. Hopefully, no changes will occur. Let’s all be safe. We’ve come so very far, stay vigilant.

In closing I want to express my thanks to my fellow officers and the Board for their service this year and their willingness to continue through next year. I especially want to thank the membership for their patience and understanding this year. It hasn’t been easy for anyone, but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter by the day. Hopefully, 2021 will allow us to return to a more normal environment. I promise we’re going to have a great party to celebrate when that time comes. In the meantime, please be safe and careful. As the new saying goes - Be Positive and Test Negative.

Thank you...

Commodore Bob Harris
